This weekend was jam packed with great things like a birthday party at Bo Restobar for our friend Lourdes. There were fancy hors d’oeuvres and her chef friends! Chefs! Fancy ones, who cook at places like Andina and Toro Bravo! It was cute and the blend of people was really neat and diverse. We had some Tsingtao’s and the most delicious goat cheese stuffed jalapenos. We sat around mingling until the word “dancing” was involved. This is when Michael and I escaped before we got roped into dancing at a butt ugly downtown club.
Saturday we stuffed our faces at the Greek Fest with the Farris Family . Souvlaki, gyros, loukoumades, bougatsa and good company!
Then I was off to a game of old people bunco for charity that happens twice a year and it was jam packed with blue-haired senior citizens drinking Franzia and getting snappy over the rules of the game. There was one guy Elliot, who I was sure was going to cut me because I beat him every time I was at his table, but after he had another Franzia he decided he liked me and I decided he wasn’t so bad himself. This bunco game was like an old church reunion! Even the coffee smelled like my childhood! People happily busted out the devilled eggs and their favorite enchilada bake recipes and wiener wraps! I hadn’t had wiener wraps since the fourth grade and this made me very happy! As it turns out, I may have gotten a little overzealous with the wieners, and I am pretty sure that I went over my cheese quota for the day because I was stuffed and sick to my stomach after leaving that place!
So stuffed that I wanted to go home and barricade my self in my room and fart in my pajama pants, but instead I was dragged to the Dublin pub where I met with my crazy friend Mel from back in the day who drinks more in one night than I do in 12 months. And there went my dreams of sitting around in my pj’s because I was wearing tight jeans and I had to sit like a lady. But it was fun and we danced all stupidly like one does when they visit the Dublin and I woke up the next day and decided that enough was enough! Whether it was the wiener wraps or the stuffed salami or the 97 thousand drinks I decided to have, Sunday was not so great and I spent all day feeling gross and guilty about all of the junk that I consumed and also because I probably should have been running instead of sitting around farting in my pj’s. I went to the store and I bought a bunch of health things like psylium husks and apples and liver cleaner. I am cleansing the liver today internet! In fact, I am on a 2 week liver cleansing plan this means no booze no deep fried things and DEFINITELY NO WIENER WRAPS. So please for the love of Jabez and all of his mightiness: For at least the next two weeks please refrain from inviting me anywhere where there is fried food, wiener wraps, 711 nachos and/or any booze whatsoever! I will be back after two short weeks with a squeaky clean liver and a pair of jeans that I don’t feel like exploding out of.

I am strangely in favor of the two week booze moratorium.
it’s too bad we had ONE glass of wine tonight! I really needed to sit on my patio and unwind though. Thanks! Apple Fest here we come!
Oh god! I have sooo been there! Although, not weiner wraps, but definetly something quite close to that.
I had to laugh though, I always swear off booze or what have you after an especially “hard” night out. It never takes. Good luck! Maybe some running will be part of the clenze!
Thanks Katie! Some running is definetely in order
I think I want those cheese jalapeno things!
You should totally have those cheese things and then you should totally come to the apple fest with us on teh Saturdayz!
